UM = Unmounted Mint ( stamp is post office fresh with no gum disturbance ) MNH = Mint Not Hinged ( stamp is fresh with no gum disturbance ) UU = UnUsed = no cancellation, no gum or part gum LMM = Lightly Mounted Mint ( stamp has been mounted in the past with little disturbance to gum, no hinge remains ) MM/MH = Mounted Mint - Mint Hinged( stamp has been mounted with no/part or all hinge remaining) MHH = Mint Heavy Hinged ( stamp has been hinged more than twice in the past with gum disturbance)and may have multiple hinge remains OG = Own Gum GU = Good Used = physically sound without tear, thin or other faults VF = Very Fine = A superb example mint or used FU = Fine Used = A good example mint or used CDS = Circular Date Stamp ( Cancellation/Franking) SPACE FILLER = Major/Very obvious faulty stamp to fill a gap in album until a better example comes along. HV = High Value ( Face or catalogued) MIXED CONDITION = All or some of above CLOSE CUT = meaning less paper around the stamp so that it produces a greater number of stamps by weight. I always try and salvage any neat & complete CDS/Cancellations. SUPERB/ SUPERB USED = A post office fresh unhinged mint stamp or used with a clean crisp cancellation with no faults Any letters and/or numbers in brackets for example shown like this (A123) is for my reference.
